I’m enjoying the colours of these wall hangings, so beautiful! Slowly edging into Winter with lots of blankets and soft cushions. My favourite.
So its my turn on the blog tour of Wendy Ward’s new book ‘A Beginners Guide to Making Skirts’, you can read an interview with Wendy all about her book here. I didn’t realise at the time but Wendy has a sewing school, MiY Workshop which I walk past every day to work so it’s so nice to be able to take part in one of her creations even if its not in person.
I was kindly sent her new book from Cico books and some gorgeous fabric from Fabworks online which is beautiful, its so soft and can’t wait to be able to wear it. Unfortunately I am still in the process of making my piece and so will show you when its all done. I decided to make the Roehampton Culottes. I have never really made any pieces of clothing before so this should be interesting. It seems to be going ok so far.
The book is really informative and great for a beginner like me, it has step by steps on each process. The books starts with the easiest project and they get slightly harder as you work your way through. At the back of the book it goes in to more detail on specific challenges, for example how to measure yourself correctly to be able to sew the correct fit. I can’t wait to wear my culottes.
Check out the other bloggers on the book tour here.
Recently the kind people at Etsy got in touch about their new campaign that they are running, #DifferenceMakesUs. The campaign is to see what makes us unique and which pieces you choose from Etsy to define your style and personality. I have taken a few pics of what I think defines my style at the moment which I bought from Etsy. You can see the links to their shops below. Check out the hashtag above and let me know what you think is defining your style at the moment.
So we just finished the Autumn/Winter issue of 91 Magazine and am so happy! It looks great and really enjoyed designing the issue. Its quite a struggle designing a 100 page magazine all by yourself but we have a great team who are all so patient and helpful. The content of this issue is beautiful and have definitely been dreaming about my future home. So many plants.
In other news 91 Magazine are hosting a pop up shop at West Elm and I will be there hosting a weaving workshop. There are only 3 tickets left though! Be quick if you fancy joining. Come along and enjoy some other workshops and you can buy the new issue too!
