A few weeks ago I got the chance to go to the Mollie Makes awards as I had been nominated for the Creative Idea award. I spent the day with some extremely talented folks along with the judges who were just so lovely and easy to talk to. I was so nervous about the day and having to pitch to 8 judges. It was all a bit scary. My creative idea was a weaving bike. In my original pitch which I had sent to Mollie Makes originally I sent this illustration below of how I imagined it would look like. I never thought it was actually going to get chosen to go through to the next round!! I thought that if it did I would make a mini version, so I did!
I took my mini weaving bike up to London and after a long day of being nervous the results were in and I won! It was such a surprise and so happy that it won that I am hoping to make a real life version for next Summer. We will see anyway. There will be a more detailed version of the day coming out soon in the next Mollie Makes issue so will wait until thats out and will show you some pictures of the funny little model I made. Mollie Makes posted some more info about it here.

Last week I spent a wonderful evening with the ladies from Posh Totty trying out one of their new workshops they are holding in their Bond Street store (Brighton). It was a wonderful evening spent with a few other bloggers, it was so personal and the evening went by so quickly. We were greeted with cocktails in jam jars and nibbles to snack on. The lovely Chloe then held the class and we learnt how to make a macrame plant holder. You can see mine below…

A few months back I approached Posh Totty on their Instagram asking if I could design them a window display. Luckily they said yes! So I put a few ideas together, a few that I might have to make even though we didn’t go with them. They chose this big pompom/flower/rope cloud type thing. I have been gathering bits for it for a few weeks now, including my boyfriend finding some chicken wire in the street which was perfect for the structure. I wasn’t really sure how it was all going to come together and look in the end but I’m so glad it looks great.
I took a few progress shots of putting it together. I love how it all came together quite quickly at the end. If you are in Brighton please do pop by and have a look. Just on Sydney Street in the North Laines. I’ll be admiring it on my way to work in the morning, actually just to see if its all still in one piece!
